 Rules & Regulations
« Thread Started on Jun 18, 2008, 6:35pm »

[[ The Basic Rules

1 >> READ ALL RULES. These include these general rules, the FAQ, the roleplay rules beneath, the rules for original characters... just read them! I have half a mind to make sure everyone has at least read them all before they do anything on the site. I didn't condense all the rules in here. There are quite a few in the FAQ. READ THEM.

2 >> Treat others as you would like to be treated. Be polite. I shouldn't even have to require this so that should tell you how much I expect it.

3 >> We don't really have rules about swearing... just don't have them in your vocabulary constantly. Don't be like Tayuya or Hidan when speaking OOC.

4 >> Do not constantly use chatspeak. I know I use it a lot, but it's just for effect and giggles, mainly.

5 >> Do not pretend to be someone you aren't.

6 >> Treat the staff with respect.

7 >> Spamming will most definitely result in a ban.

8 >> Staff, don't get out of control. You most definitely can and will be stripped of power and possibly banned if I see you acting out of line.

9 >> Stay as active as possible. If you have conflicts, we understand. Just at least pop in once a week, and always explain why you've been gone.

10 >> Check the updates. I will probably PM/E-mail all members whenever a new update is added.

11 >> Have fun! That's the main point.

12 >> Do not bug staff to become staff. If we need new staff, we'll start thinking and lining up candidates ourselves. If you bug us, you automatically lose your chance.

13 >> This board's plot is up to date with any and all recent manga spoilers with who people are/what they are, etc. I tried to make that as vague as possible. XD Please be up to date with the manga if you wish to roleplay/hang out here so that you don't get left in the dust. Staff are required to be up to date.

[[ Disorderly Conduct

This is basically a three strike system. Breaking rules about how to set up characters or how to roleplay is really not much of a big deal here. The biggest problems are behavior. If you are blatantly disrespectful to another member of the site, ESPECIALLY a staff member, here is what will happen:

1 >> You will get a warning by PM.

2 >> If it happens again, your account will be suspended a week or more.

3 >> If it happens a third time, you will be banned from the site.

oh, marie, something tells me things just won't work out above
that our love would live a half-life on the surface
so at night while you are sleeping I hold you closer just because
as our time grows short I grow a little nervous

[[ Roleplay Rules

1 >> Yes, this is an above average roleplay community. We do not expect mediocrity from you, but we do not expect "OMIGAW amazing" stuff. Just take things seriously, follow the rules, etc etc.

2 >> There is no real limit for posts, yet please keep them at least above 100 words. Remember, you're trying to get in a character's dialogue, actions, and thoughts! It shouldn't be too hard to eke out a few sentences. But don't be redundant. That's annoying.

3 >> Before you can roleplay, you must have applied for an available character and been approved.

4 >> "Liquid" roleplaying is allowed here; i.e. where your character can be in more than one place in different threads at the same time.

5 >> Double posts will be deleted. Yes, I'm neurotic, and I do look at almost every post that is posted.

6 >> While conversing OOC during a roleplay, make sure it's obvious. Use parentheses or brackets. Don't just bold or italicize.

7 >> Don't clog up the roleplay boards with your discussions! If you're just roleplaying and adding comments back and forth, that's fine, but if it dissolves into the OOC parts being longer than the posts, you definitely need to take it to the OOC boards.

8 >> You may make sub-plots of your own as you roleplay, but above all things, STICK TO THE MAIN PLOT. If you haven't read the plot yet, you're in trouble, so read it here.

9 >> Onshuu is set up so that those who roleplay write in third person, paragraph form. Do not deviate from this, please.

10 >> Use italics, not /italics/. Use bold, not -bold-.

[[ Fighting Rules

1 >> Absolutely, under no circumstances are you allowed to god mode. You are not allowed to totally beat someone into a pulp in one try. You are not allowed to control someone else's character in a fight without their permission. You are not allowed to say how much damage the other took. If you try and god mode, you automatically lose the battle and yes, an admin/mod will be there to tell you.

This isn't saying that if you're like, Pein and you're fighting an ordinary genin, that you have to draw out a battle with them. Think about what you're roleplaying. With Pein-and-the-genin, of course Pein would crush them in a second! But, if you do that and don't list what damage was done, just what you did to them, you wouldn't be god-moding. It's subjective, and really depends on who all are in the battle.

2 >> You cannot kill another character without permission and killing canons is DEFINITELY off limits unless you've had an audience with the mods (both of you) and it's been decided that all believe this would be the best way to further the plot. But we don't like it when canons die (admit it, you've cried at someone's death in the series) so there's a very slim chance you'll be approved.

3 >> If there is an issue in the battle and you want it to be over but can't decide who'll win, PM one of the admins.
